ေရာင္းေရး ၀ယ္တာနဲ ့ပါတ္သတ္လုိ ့သင္စရာ တတ္စရာ ရွိတာ မွန္သမွ်ကုိ မန္ခ်ီဂန္နယ္ ၊ နယူးအယ္ရာၿမဳိ ့ကေလးက ကၽြန္ေတာ့္ အေဖ ေ၀ါ့လ္ရဲ ့ပရိေဘာဂ ပစၥည္းအေရာင္းဆုိင္မွာ ကၽြန္ေတာ္၀င္ကူေပးရာကေန သင္ခဲ့တတ္ခဲ့ ရပါတယ္ ။ အဲဒီတုန္းက ကၽြန္ေတာ္ အသက္ (၁၂) ႏွစ္ပဲရွိေသးတယ္ ။
Everything I learned about selling I learned in one afternoon from my father,Walt at his furniture store in New Era,Michingan.I was 12 years old.
ေကာင္ေလးဆုိင္ ၾကမ္းၿပင္ကုိ လွည္းက်င္းေနတုန္း အသက္ၾကီးၾကီး အမ်ဳိးသမီး ၾကီးတစ္ေယာက္ ဆုိင္ထဲ၀င္လာတယ္ ။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ က အေဖ့ကုိ ``ေစာင့္ေပးရမလား ေမးေတာ့ အေဖက ေအးေပါ့´´ ၿပန္ေၿပာတယ္ ။
I was sweeping the floor when an elderly woman entered the store.I asked Dad if I could wait on her.''Sure''.he replied.
အယ္ဒီခ်ိန္ အန္တီ တစ္ေယာက္ ေရာက္လာတယ္ ။
``ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ဘာကူညီေပးရမလဲ ခင္ဗ်ာ ။´´
''May I help you''.
``ေၾသာ္... ေအး သူငယ္ေလး.ရယ္ အန္တီ မင္းတုိ ့ဆုိင္က ၀ယ္သြားတဲ့ ဆုိဖာဆက္တီ ေၿခေထာက္ ၿပဳတ္သြားလို ့ကြဲ ့။ အဲ့ဒါ မင္းတုိ ့ဘယ္ေတာ့ ေလာက္လာၿပန္ပီး တပ္ေပးႏူိင္မလဲလုိ ့ပါ´´
''yes,young man.I bought a sofa from your store and the leg fell off.I want to know when you're going to fix it.''
``အန္တီ ၀ယ္သြားတာ ဘယ္တုံးကပါလဲ´´
''When did you purchase it,ma' am?''
``အင္း (၁၀)ႏွစ္ေလာက္ေတာ့ ရွိပီ´´
''About 10 years ago''.
ကၽြန္ေတာ္ က ကၽြန္ေတာ့္ အေဖကုိ ေၿပာၿပတယ္ ။ အန္တီၾကီး ကုိၾကည့္ရတာ ဆုိဖာ ခုံအေဟာင္းကုိ လက္ခမယူပဲ ၿပန္တပ္ေပးေစခ်င္ပုံရတယ္လို ့။ အေဖက ဒီကေန ့ေန့ခင္းပဲ လာလုပ္ေပးမယ္လုိ ့အန္တီကုိ ၿပန္ေၿပာလိုက္တယ္ ။
I told my father that she thought we were going to fix her old sofa for free.He said to tell her we'd be there that afternoon.
ခုံမွာ ေၿခေထာက္ အသစ္လဲတပ္ ၊ ၀က္အူစုပ္ပီးေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တုိ ့ၿပန္လာခဲ့ၾကတယ္ ။ ကားေမာင္းလာရင္း လမ္းမွာ အေဖက ေမးတယ္ ။ ``ငါ့သား မင္းဘာအလုိ မက်ၿဖစ္ေနတာလဲ´´
After screwing on the new leg,we left and on the ride back Pop asked,"What's bothering you,son?"
``သား ေကာလိပ္ ဆက္တက္ခ်င္တာ အေဖၾကီး သိပါတယ္ ။ အခုလိုသာ ကားတစ္စီး နဲ ့လွည့္ပီး ဆုိဖာ ထုိင္ခုံအေဟာင္း ေတြကုိ အလကား ေလွ်ာက္ၿပင္ေပးေနမယ္ဆုိရင္ သားတုိ ့ေတာ့မလြယ္၀ူးနဲ ့တူတယ္´´
"You know that I want to go to collage.If we drive around fixing sofa for free,we'll go broke!"
``ေၾသာ္ .. ငါ့သားရယ္ ၊ ဘာပဲ ၿဖစ္ၿဖစ္ ခုံကုိ ဘယ္လုိၿပင္ရတယ္ဆုိတာေလာက္ေတာ့ မင္းသင္ခြင့္ရသြားတာေပါ့ကြာ ။ ဒါတင္မကေသး၀ူး အေရးၾကီး ဆုံးအခ်က္ကုိ မင္း လက္လြတ္သြားတာ ရွိတယ္ ။ ထုိင္ခုံကုိ တုိ ့ေတြ ၿပင္ေတာ့ ေၿပာင္းၿပန္လန္လိုက္တုံးမွာ ဆုိင္အမွတ္တံဆိပ္ကပ္ထားတာကုိ မင္း သတိမထားလုိက္မိ၀ူး ။ ဒီအမ်ဳိးသမီး ၾကီး၀ယ္သြားတာ ဆီးယားစ္ ဆုိင္ကကြ´´
"You had to learn how to do that job any way.Besides you missed the most important part.You didn't notice the store tag when we flipped the couch over.She bought it from Sears."
``ဒီေတာ့ အေဖၾကီးဆုိလုိတာက သားတုိ ့အေနနဲ ့အလကားလဲ လုပ္ေပးရေသးတယ္ ။သူက ကုိယ့္ေဖာက္သည္ ေတာင္ မဟုတ္ၿပန္၀ူး.ေပါ့´´
"You mean we did that job for nothing and she's not even our customer?"
ေဖေဖက ကၽြန္ေတာ္ မ်က္လုံးကုိ တည့္တည့္ ၾကည့္ပီးေတာ့ ေၿပာလုိက္တယ္ ``အခုေတာ့ သူက မင္းေဖာက္သည္ၿဖစ္သြားပီ´´
Dad looked me in the eye and said,"She is now".
ေနာက္ႏွစ္ရက္ၾကာေတာ့ အဲ့ဒီ အန္တီၾကီး ကၽြန္ေတာ္.တုိ ့ဆုိင္ကုိ ေရာက္လာတယ္ . ကၽြန္ေတာ္.တုိ ့ဆီက ေဒၚလာ ေထာင္ေသာင္းခ်ီ တန္တဲ့ ပရိေဘာဂ ပစၥည္းအသစ္ေတြ ၀ယ္တယ္ ။ သူ ့အိမ္ကုိ ပစၥည္းေတြ လုိက္ပုိ ့ေတာ့ အန္တီၾကီးက တစ္ေဒၚလာ တန္ကေန ငါးေဒၚလာတန္ ၊ ဆယ္ေဒၚလာ ၊ ႏွစ္ဆယ္တန္ ၊ ငါးဆယ္တန္ ၊ ရာတန္ေတြ အထိ အၿပည့္ထည့္ထားတဲ့ ဂါလံ ခြက္တစ္ခြက္ကုိ မီးဖုိေခ်ာင္စားပြဲေပၚမွာ တင္ေပးထားတယ္ ။ ``ေကာင္ေလး မင္းလုိသေလာက္ ယူသြား´´ လို ့သူ ကေၿပာပီး အခန္းအၿပင္ဖက္ကုိ ထြက္သြားတယ္ ။
Two days later she returned to our store and brought several thousand dollars wroth of new furniture from me.When we deliver it,she put a gallon jar filled with change,singles,fives,tens,
အဲ့ဒီေန ့က စပီး ကၽြန္ေတာ္ အေရာင္းအ၀ယ္လုပ္လာတာ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း (၃၀ ရွိပါပီ ။ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ကုိယ္စားလွယ္ လုပ္ေပးခဲ့တဲ့ လုပ္ငန္းတုိင္းမွာ ပွ်မ္းမွ် စာရင္းခ်ဳပ္ၾကည့္လုိက္ရင္ အၿမင့္ဆုံးရေအာ္င လုပ္ႏူိင္ခဲ့တာခ်ည္းပဲ ။ အဲ့ဒါဘာေၾကာင့္လဲ ဆုိေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ က ေဖာက္သည္ တုိင္းကုိ ေလးစားသမႈ နဲ ့ဆက္ဆံလို ့ပါ ။
I've been selling for 30 years since the day.I have had the highest closing average in every organization I have represented because I treat every customer with respect.
